Towards Partnership Arrangements
GSL/Babcock & Brown consortium has been appointed Preferred Bidder for the BHH LIFT project. This follows an extensive evaluation process that begun in March this year. We are now working towards a formal signing stage and the setting up of a joint venture Company called LIFTCo. It is hoped this can be achieved within the next three months.
The intention is for the Partnership to commence building works on all five of its first wave projects between April and August 2004. Detailed planning applications on three of these will be submitted shortly.
The key players in the Preferred Partner team are:
GSL(GlobalSolutionsLtd)
A service based organisation experienced in the operating of public facilities.
Babcock & Brown
A property management and investment Company experienced in Public Private finance arrangements.
Balfour Beatty
Nationally recognised building contractor and project managers.
Greg Pike
Health Service Planning Advisor
DransfieldOwensDeSilva
Architectural practice experienced in the provision of health facilities.
Geoff Easton, Project Director of the BHH LIFT, is very pleased with the outcome of the bidding and evaluation process. “It was a very competitive exercise between three good teams but the evaluation team's view was that GSL/Babcock & Brown had the edge on their competitors in virtually all of the areas we looked at. We look forward to establishing good working relationships with our Partner that will result in early site developments and new premises that will provide for our local communities much improved services in attractive and comfortable buildings”.
